Hawaii-The Big Island 2008

We just got back from an incredible family vacation to Hawaii...the beach, beautiful weather, a helicopter ride, lava flows (the real ones and the drink!), sunsets...you get the picture...GOOD TIMES!

Seven...can you believe it?

Ben...Biggy...Moshi...B...The man of many nicknames turned 7...to celebrate we had a party at John's Incredible Pizza Co. (basically a different version of Chuck E. Cheese). He had a stomach flu the day before, but a trip to the emergency room for medicine and sheer will made his party possible-he did NOT want to cancel it. So on with the party...let the good times roll, until the ride home with a car full of boys..."Ben's Mom, Ben just threw up all over the back seat"...and then the smell...even after two weeks, countless washing and air spray, it STILL smells bad!! Oh well, at least it was on the way home and not to the party!

The birthday boy...dig the hat B

Some crazy party goers

Jack and his nemesis...the crane game

Ben and his buddies shooting it up

Cake time...don't eat too much you might get sick on the way home and throw up all over Mommy's car!

I worry about when he becomes a teenager....

Nature right outside my window

Spring is in the air (actually now it is summer...but work with me) and nature is going crazy out here. I admit I got (or am) a little geeky and took pictures of everything. Some purple finches set up house in our outdoor heater...we tried to discourage them by taking out several nests...but then one weekend we were out of town and they got busy with a nest and some eggs, so we got to watch nature take its course and out popped some little chicks...fun to watch the whole process. Also a turkey stirred things up around here...check out the little one who got left behind and of course a Red Tailed Hawk to keep a close eye on everything

Baseball Season

Hey, I actually remembered to take pictures this year...actually for Jack's team another mom took the pictures-but passed them along to me-so that still counts right??!

Chris coached Jack's team to victory 13-6-1, the best record in the league. They had some really talented kids, many we've played with before. Great pitchers-power hitters (Jack was one of those) and all around smart players who like the game.

I remembered to bring the camera to the last game for Ben...boy oh boy, what a LONG game...excursiating long...ask Chris, his knees still hurt from knealing down to pitch. He assisted on the Sidewinders. Ben's team had quite an intersting season...more like T-Ball graduated, hopefully next year will be a little more exciting

Oh my knees!

Strike!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Watch out or I'll shot you with my bat laser gun

What am I suppose to do again? Catch the ball???!

Yeah-Dirt!

Misc. Adult Times...

It doesn't always revolve around the boys...the big folks know how to have fun too!

Jessica came up for a weekend...we did a little wine tasting!

Bear Attack!
Let's just say, the next time I am invited up to the Drakes cabin in Tahoe (if I ever get invited back)...I will not be allowed to be in charge of the bear mace (who knew such a thing existed??!) Anyway, you don't ever want to spray it-trust me it burns and stings...but the good news was I did it when paramedics were already next door...drinking and bear mace don't mix!!

Zoe (who got it right in the eye...and was still talking to me) and me and the bear mace

All the ladies after the "incident"

Gail and I and the bartender...I guess he is in a number of Gail's photos so he didn't want to disappoint!
